SaaS

A pipeline that ends in a subscription.

Run the deal from discovery to trial to signature, then start the subscription from the won deal. Plans, MRR and ARR, trials, renewals and churn sit next to the pipeline, not in a separate billing tool.

The SaaS preset is on Pro and Business. Accounting and the API come with Business.

  • Plans

Your price list as records: Starter, Growth and Scale to begin with, renamed and repriced as you like.

  • Subscriptions

Monthly or annual, in every state: trial, active, past due, cancelled, churned. "Start subscription" on a won deal creates one.

  • MRR and ARR

Computed on each subscription from its plan, seats and billing cycle, and added up on the dashboard, with MRR by plan.

  • Trials and renewals

Trials ending in the next 14 days and renewals due in the next 30, as lists your team works through.

  • Churn

Churn this month on the subscriptions dashboard, and lost reasons such as Missing Feature or Competitor on the deals you did not win.

  • SaaS sources and contacts

Website signups, free trials, webinars and outbound as sources; champions, decision makers and billing contacts as contact types.

Pipeline

Discovery, demo, trial, signature.

The SaaS stages are on the board from the start. Win the deal and start the subscription from it, with an optional trial.

Questions

SaaS: what people ask.

Does it charge cards or replace our billing provider?

No. Fibonacci CRM tracks plans, subscriptions and their revenue, and on Business invoices them through the ledger, but it does not take card payments. Keep your payment provider and use the API to keep the two in step.

How is MRR calculated?

From each subscription's plan, seats and billing cycle. Monthly: the monthly price for the seats, and ARR twelve times that. Annual: ARR is the annual price for the seats and MRR a twelfth of it. The dashboard adds up active and past-due subscriptions; trials and cancelled ones are not counted.
